Michigan Technological University (MTU), a nationally recognized leader in science and engineering education and research, invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Department of Physics, starting Fall, 2023. The instructional-track faculty (ITF) position is full-time (9-month, non-tenure track), primarily teaching undergraduate physics courses for majors and non-majors. The ITF will be appointed for 2-year rolling terms, contingent upon satisfactory performance. ITFs at MTU are eligible to apply for sabbatical leave and a career path to associate teaching professor or teaching professor is available. According to established university procedures, individuals appointed to the instructional ranks are eligible for merit increases.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field, and experience teaching undergraduate physics courses.
