Research Scientist
The Duke Quantum Center (DQC), is seeking highly qualified candidates for the role of Research Scientist to design and build a next-generation ion trap quantum computer in consultation with several DQC faculty members. This is a rare opportunity for career advancement in quantum computing hardware in an open academic environment. The system we build will compete in performance with the best quantum computers in the world and will have the flexibility for new capabilities and applications in an academic setting. After the system is built and characterized, the candidate will have the opportunity to lead the use of the new systems for scientific discovery. The DQC is a unique “vertical” quantum institute that investigates the entire stack of a quantum information
