Postdoctoral Position – Multidimensional Ultrafast Spectroscopy
A postdoctoral researcher is needed to further develop and apply of a unique type of multidimensional spectroscopy, Multiple Population Period Transient Spectroscopy (MUPPETS). This method uses a sequence of six ultrafast light pulses to disentangle the heterogeneity of rates within complex materials. Systems of current interest include surfactant nanostructures, supercooled liquids, and ionic liquids. A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related field is required. The successful candidate will operate and maintain an ultrafast laser system, operate and modify a unique optical system that executes six-pulse experiments, collect and analyze data, develop new data-analysis techniques, and prepare results for publication.
