Description
The Department of Applied Physics in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Yale University and the Yale Quantum Institute invite applications for a faculty appointment in the area of experimental quantum information science and technology. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2025. Quantum science and engineering is one of five top priority areas identified in the University's Science Strategy Report and we have a vibrant and expanding community both in the Yale Quantum Institute and described more broadly at Quantum at Yale. Yale is engaged in a campus-wide investment in quantum science, engineering, and materials. Along with multiple appointments in these areas, the University has committed to, and has begun construction of, a new Physical Science and Engineering Building which will provide state-of-the-art facilities in quantum science, including quantum information science and quantum computing.
The successful candidate is expected to initiate a vibrant research group, be an interactive member of the Applied Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivilant degree in Applied Physics, Physics, or a related discipline, at the time of the hire.
