St. Mary’s College of Maryland  invites applications for two (2) tenure track positions at the rank of  Assistant Professor of Physics, beginning August 2024. Teaching responsibilities include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses, possibly including introductory astronomy. The SMCM Physics Department received the 2017 Award for Improving Undergraduate Education from APS, and it was featured as a model in the report of the Joint Task Force on Undergraduate Physics Programs (J-TUPP) from APS and AAPT. Qualifications: Ph. D. in Physics or a related field is required; teaching experience is preferred. An interest in attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups is desirable.
