Position Description
As part of an initiative to advance research at the intersections of Math, Physics, and Philosophy, and in parallel with the launch of a new doctoral program, the Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University seeks a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective August 2024 in the discipline of Mathematics, Physics, or Philosophy.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to continue their active research program and mentoring activities, as well as help design, implement, and assess innovative new programs. Faculty appointments will be made at the Assistant Professor rank with current academic standing in one of the College’s academic programs. Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent in a field relevant to Mathematics, Physics, or Philosophy at time of appointment
Outstanding records of scholarly publications and research
Commitment to the mentorship of students
Demonstrated aptitude to interdisciplinary research (and teaching) in the intersection of Math, Philosophy and Physics, with a particular emphasis on the connections of mathematics and philosophy (philosophy of mathematics, foundation of mathematics, logic and computation, history of mathematics and logic, philosophical logic, mathematization of natural and social sciences, etc.)
