Shenzhen Technology University is a high-standard high-level public undergraduate university commissioned by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and approved by the China Ministry of Education. It was inaugurated on November 30, 2018 as an exemplary international advanced research and technology university, within the national and provincial context of advancing the high-end manufacturing industrial infrastructure and the Twin-Region Development Plan. Introduction to the College of Engineering Physics
The College of Engineering Physics, founded in February 2019, is committed to cultivating high-quality students with international vision and innovative thinking in applied technology and research. Our undergraduate program include Applied Physics, Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering. In 2023, we will add Intelligent Perception Engineering. Together with domestic universities and research institutes, we also joint-train master and doctoral students. The College has teaching and research units such as the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Ultraintense Laser and Advanced Material Technology, the Center for Advanced Material Diagnostic Technology, an Academician Workstation, etc. It has a high-level teaching and research team with backgrounds covering applied physics, optical engineering, laser plasma physics, materials physics, computational science, quantum science, atomic, molecular and condensed-matter physics, particle physics, astrophysics, automatic control, intelligent sensing, artificial intelligence and other areas. Large scientific research equipment include a 600 terawatt/second high-performance computer, a 200-terawatt femtosecond laser, a 1-terawatt kilohertz femtosecond laser, an ultra-high repetition frequency femtosecond laser, dynamic and static high voltage systems, a nearly 100 MeV linear electron accelerator, a terahertz spectral imager, a picosecond time-resolution high-speed imaging and spectral measurement platform, and various advanced materials preparation and diagnostics instruments, etc. Faculty members are in charge of more than 50 scientific research projects, with a total funding of more than 50 million yuan, of which 26 projects are from the National Natural Science Foundation, 10 projects of a national Key Special Project and are responsible for completing a large scientific equipment under the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Plan, and four projects from the 14th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Plan Big Scientific Equipment Key Special Project Research. To date, we have published more than 100 papers in influential international journals, and received/applied for nearly 40 national patents.
