Associate Research Physicist - Wendelstein 7-X
Overview The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is seeking a postdoctoral physicist to conduct research in real-time plasma diagnosis and control on the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) stellarator. The candidate will lead the installation and operation of the system for real-time plasma profile evaluation based on Thomson scattering signals and will utilize the system's capabilities in experiments. If time permits, the candidate may also perform plasma transport modeling to help guide the experiments. Wendelstein 7-X is a stellarator experiment at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Greifswald, Germany that employs a system of superconducting magnetic coils to confine a hot, dense plasma. The most advanced device of its
