Physics Postdoctoral Research Associate in Theoretical Quantum Condensed Matter/AMO
The Physics Department at Virginia Tech invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the overlapping areas of theoretical quantum condensed matter and atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. The research involves modelling quantum many-body states of matter. Example topics of interest include topological states, flat bands, exotic superfluids, and quantum Hall effects. Modelling will apply to a variety of systems, but an emphasis on AMO systems is expected. Close collaboration with experimental groups working in AMO will be encouraged. Candidates should be familiar with methods in quantum many-body theory. Additional expertise in computational methods is highly desirable. The position includes opportunities for travel both to present at conferences and to collaborate wit
