Protein Chemist - Postdoctoral Researcher

  • PhD in Biological Science, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering in a life science or biotechnology setting.
  • Experience with protein biochemistry and/or biophysics, including assay development
  • Experience in protein expression and purification
  • Experience with molecular biology for gene synthesis, molecular cloning, and recombinant protein expression
  • Ability to work with at a high level of independence as demonstrated through publication of peer-reviewed literature.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a interdisciplinary team environment and present and explain technical information
  • Demonstrate exceptionally strong collaboration and communication skills across an organization with diverse expertise.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment both independently and as a team with a diverse set of scientists, and other technical and administrative staff
  • Effective problem-solving skills to implement solutions of limited complexity.

Qualifications we desire:

  • Structural biology expertise, computational or experimental
  • Immunology training or experience
  • Experience with high throughput gene synthesis, cloning, DNA preparation, protein production, protein purification, and/or protein characterization
  • Experience in lab automation, particularly for gene synthesis, cloning, recombinant expression, protein purification, and protein characterization
  • Experience with laboratory information management software
