Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was founded in Shanghai, China, in 1896. SJTU is a world top 100 university, and GIFT(Global institute of future technology) is one institute out of the 33 schools/departments and 12 affiliated hospitals. GIFT at SJTU aims to: establish a world-class faculty in the fields of energy, health, and extreme manufacturing; build a cutting-edge research and teaching platform; carry out the best international scientific research cooperation; and promote interdisciplinary education and research activities. The institute manages endowment funds from various sources, including a recent endowment fund of more than 200 million US dollars.
