Research Assistant Professor
We invite applications to an open position for a full-time Research Assistant Professor at the Extreme Light Laboratory (ELL) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). The Research Assistant Professor will work with Dr. Donald Umstadter, director of the UNL Extreme Light Laboratory, and the laboratory’s involvement in the established DOE LaserNetUS consortium of designated user facilities. These unique facilities are pioneering the science, technology, and applications of extreme light. The science involves highly relativistic laser-matter interactions at the highest achievable light intensity levels. The technology entails petawatt-power and femtosecond-duration lasers. The applications include compact laser-driven accelerators and x-ray light sources, which are leading to advances
