University Science Books at AIP Publishing, a subsidiary of the American Institute of Physics, seeks a Publishing Assistant to help with the day-to-day operations of a prestigious science book and textbook publisher with a 40-year history of excellence.  The ideal candidate for this position will be an energetic, organized, self-starter who is highly motivated to gain experience in all aspects of science book publishing, with a particular interest in the physical sciences.

Responsibilities:

*Assist with day-to-day operations
*Manage and update active-title databases and metadata files across multiple vendor platforms
*Manage and update digital ebooks across multiple platforms
*Assist with review of, development of, and prepress composition of new projects and new editions
*Assist with the creation and deployment of new marketing content via eBlasts and website updates
*Help to brainstorm, plan and execute innovative strategies to boost USB's customer base and enhance brand awareness
*Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with in-house team members, authors, vendors and suppliers

Qualifications:
*Minimum of BA/BS, with at least some coursework in the physical sciences a plus
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Superior organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
*Proficiency with Excel, Adobe Pro, and Zoom; some familiarity with HTML and TeX is preferred
*Ability to work accurately, quickly, independently, and remotely.
*Desire to become a valued a team player as we curate beautifully designed landmark books and textbooks with superb authors in physics, chemistry and astronomy.

Location: 
Essex County, NJ

Must reside in the Tri-State Area.  Remote opportunity with availability to meet periodically in the greater metropolitan area.
