Physics Postdoctoral Research Position in Radiation Oncology focused on Light Ion Radiation Therapy

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in the Division of Medical Physics.  Individuals with a strong interest in the application of computational tools and particle/nuclear physics principles in radiation medicine and experience in Monte Carlo simulation methods are encouraged to apply.

The fellowship offers individualized research opportunity in the area of Monte Carlo simulations directly related to the characterization and clinical performance of our future pencil beam scanning light ion therapy facility at Mayo Clinic Florida, which will include both proton therapy and the first in the nation Carbon-Ion therapy center. The incumbent is expected to conduct research leading to publications and presentations at national/international meetings under the guidance of our faculty. 

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
