Postdoctoral Scholar at Institute of Advanced Optics and Photonics - Joint project with IBM Research
Hanbat National University
The Institute of Advanced Optics and Photonics at Hanbat National University (located in Daejeon, S. Korea) invites Postdoctoral Scholars to apply for the joint project “Topological Active Photonic Materials”. This project is in collaboration with the Materials Integration and Nanoscale Devices Group, Science and Technology department at IBM Research Zurich (https://www.zurich.ibm.com/st/ - located in Zurich, Switzerland), the post-doctoral Scholar will be located in Daejeon, but a close collaboration is planned with IBM researchers and secondments to the IBM Lab are planned during the project. In this project we will work on the development of topological photonic lattices with the local integration of III-V gain material for direct emission into topological states. Daejeon will be mainly responsible for the theoretical framework and photonic design. The structures will be fabricated in the IBM lab, and subsequently both partners will be active in different aspects of optical device characterization. The position is available starting on 1st of November 2019 or later. The position is a two-year contract with an option of extension up to the third year. The annual salary range is negotiable plus Hanbat National University benefits. Health, safety, employ insurances and national pension are covered by the institute.
