Job Description: The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge invites applications for an assistant or associate professor in the area of x-ray/gamma-ray astrophysics, starting in August 2020. Candidates are expected to have an established record in the area of observational high-energy astrophysics, for example with Fermi LAT, GBM, Swift, CALET, or other recent high-energy experiments, and to demonstrate interest and/or involvement in the design and planning of future missions. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous research program and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. About the LSU Physics & Astronomy Department:

Minimum qualifications: (Both Levels) Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field. (Associate Level) Must have 3 years of related experience. Preferred qualifications: (Both Levels) Established record in the area of observational high-energy astrophysics, for example with Fermi LAT, GBM, Swift, CALET, or other recent high-energy experiments, and to demonstrate interest and/or involvement in the design and planning of future missions.
