Our cybersecurity scientists and engineers engage in a variety of research areas including: + Deep physical analysis of legacy/modern semiconductor devices, circuit structures, and memories+ Assessment of advanced electrical device characteristics, circuits and logic behaviors+ Development, advancement and application of novel analysis techniques & tools+ Detection of residual flaws and unexpected physical/functional behaviors+ Novel approaches for protecting devices and circuits from external influences **When applying to this requisition, you may be interviewed and/or hired by one of several cybersecurity\-focused organizations\.** Required: + You have both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in relevant disciplines plus 2 years' experience; or a Doctorate in a related discipline; or Bachelor's in a relevant discipline plus 6 years' experience+ Experience in the analysis of modern digital semiconductor devices & circuits, and the use of analytical tools/techniques for understanding detailed device functionality and/or failures\.+ Able to obtain and maintain a DOE\-Q level security clearance and SCI which may require polygraph testing\. Desired: Ideally, we would like for your background to include some of the following: + Advanced Degree\(s\) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or an applicable equivalent STEM degree\.+ Experience conducting research resulting in creative technical solutions\.+ Strong analytical skills\.+ Familiarity with modern commercial microprocessors, processor cores, and programmable logic devices\.+ Experience in applying analytical techniques using \(for example\) electron beam or laser microscopy tools\.+ Well\-developed leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a disciplined and focused manner\.+ Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely\.+ Active DOD/DOE TS/Q security clearance, with an active SCI clearance with polygraph test\. Department Description: This department focuses on developing and executing microelectronics hardware analysis research programs, working collaboratively with Sandia's S&T community and external partners to inform and engage them in mission\-enabling applied research for a variety of national security customers\. In addition, this department is responsible for providing mission leadership to Sandia's state\-of\-the\-art assessment capabilities that enable solutions to a breadth of embedded system and microelectronics measurement and analysis problems\. Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\. Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\.
