The general area of interest is x-ray phase-contrast imaging, with an emphasis on high-speed imaging studies of deformation and fracture of materials under dynamic loading, as well as the development of quantitative models and simulations for interpretation of x-ray phase-contrast images. Experience with x-ray phase-contrast imaging, or coherent optics more generally, is required. The strongest candidates for this position will also have experience with either time-resolved studies of materials using synchrotron radiation or experimental studies of mechanical behavior of materials under dynamic loading.
Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate in physics, materials science, or a related field. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Prof. Todd Hufnagel (firstname.lastname@example.org) for additional information. To apply please send a single PDF containing a résumé or CV, copies of two relevant publications, and the names and contact information of three references to Prof. Hufnagel at email@example.com.
Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply. Johns Hopkins University is an EEO/AA employer.
