MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY’S DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions to begin Fall 2019. The appointments are expected to be made at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants in all areas of mechanical engineering will be considered. Candidates in the areas of dynamic material behavior, material and thermal-fluid sciences, and mechanical systems are encouraged to apply.
The Mechanical Engineering Department has experienced unprecedented growth which has resulted in the need to higher multiple tenure-track faculty. This hiring process is occurring alongside a host of others positions within the University; dual-career candidates are encouraged to apply. The College has committed space, research infrastructure and competitive recruitment packages to attract world class faculty. The ME Department currently has 14 tenure track faculty members actively involved in research, teaching, and service and are committed to preparing diverse graduates to be leaders in innovation and research on a global stage.
Successful candidates will possess a strong potential for excellent scholarship integrated with the desire to achieve teaching excellence. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate (MS/PhD) courses in their area of specialization, establish an independent, extramurally funded research program that includes submission of grant proposals, publications and mentoring of graduate students.
