: The Engineering Sciences Center is seeking a student intern to contribute to the understanding of the dynamic behavior of small components to operational and laboratory environments\. We are looking for a highly motivated, team\-oriented individual that is capable of supporting programs in this technical area\. The successful candidate will have a strong technical interest in experimental structural dynamics and will be responsible for setting up and performing experiments and processing the resulting data\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Assist staff members in structural dynamics, vibration, acoustics, shock or solid mechanics testing+ Assist with process data or script processes using various software systems, including MatLab, Python, LabView, SolidWorks, etc\.+ Research current state of the art in these fields utilizing scientific literature+ Plan and design experiments, write reports in PowerPoint or Word Required: You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements: + Currently attending and enrolled full time \(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\) in an accredited undergraduate program+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer+ U\.S\. citizenship Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position\. Tailored and controlled tests are used to accurately characterize the structural response of small and large\-scale systems\. The work includes integration with environments engineering, advanced diagnostics, and computational analysis\. This integrated capability supports applied and fundamental laboratory research and model validation, develops experimental methods and integrated environments, and characterizes the behavior of hardware within operational environments\. Responsibilities span the research, development, qualification, and acceptance phases of a broad range of national security missions\. These include the nuclear weapons deterrent, satellite assets, missile defense, conventional military technologies, infrastructure and energy security, and other applications\.
