The Department of Physics at Clarkson University invites applications for a full time Visiting Assistant Professor position in the 2018-19 academic year. Responsibilities will involve teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate level physics courses. Undergraduate courses may include both laboratories and lectures/recitations for first year physics courses, as well as upper level courses for physics majors. The candidate must have Ph.D. in physics or a related field, with evidence for potential in teaching excellence, and should have communication skills necessary to work effectively with diverse groups of students and colleagues. Candidates who are ABD with an expected completion date before of shortly after the date of hire may be considered. Preference will be given to applicants, who apply by June 30 and have completed Ph.D. by that time. Some teaching experience at the graduate level and/or a record of peer-reviewed scientific publications will be useful.
