: The Radar and Signal Analysis group is seeking an engineer who can apply integrated technical judgment by using the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems, to collect date through observation and experimentation, and to formulate and test hypotheses to anticipate, innovate, and deliver solutions to Sandia National Laboratories missions\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Work in the fundamentals of science and engineering while applying a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles;+ Create and applies scientific theories and laws and engineering methods used within scientific and engineering disciplines to develop or demonstrate new designs, concepts, materials, machines, products, processes, or systems;+ Use physical and computational simulation, analysis, and evaluation as inherent activities of development;+ Plan, conducts, and executes Sandia's science and engineering programs within the spectrum of fundamental research, development, or demonstration;+ Design, develop, and test radiofrequency and microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products;+ Design antennae, reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters, or receivers;+ Design develop, evaluate, and analyze sensor\-related technology used to detect, monitor, or characterize remote objects from the sensor transducer through required signal processing, including radar \(including passive applications\) and electro\-optical \(including laser\) sensor systems\. Travel occasionally for technical interactions and field testing\. Candidates applying on this requisition may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories\. Required: + Advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics \(and a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline\) plus two or more years of experience;+ Relevant experience with MATLAB;+ Educational background or relevant experience in at least three of the following key areas: \(1\) RF communications; \(2\) Synthetic Aperature Radar or other radar \(and/or radar analysis\); \(3\) EW \(electronic warfare\); \(4\) Signal Processing; \(5\) Firmware implementation of signal processing algorithms in FPGA or DSP; and \(6\) RF/microwave circuit design;+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q\-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\. Desired: + Knowledge of MATLAB and/or Simulink for RF communication/radar analysis or similar tools;+ Experience in Synthetic Aperature Radar design and/or analysis+ Two or more years of relevant project management experience+ Two or more years of RF and microwave circuit design experience;+ Knowledge of high\-level programming language such as C/C\+\+;+ Knowledge of RF Communications and/or radar systems and principles;+ Laboratory skills and knowledge of RF\-related test equipment;+ Working knowledge of RF/microwave hardware;+ Circuit simulation experience;+ Hardware level signal processing experience \(FPGA, DSP or GPU\);+ Experience with EW/ECM techniques;+ Active DOE Q clearance;+ Active SCI clearance;+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment\. Department Description: The Radar and Signal Analysis Department provides system analysis and design, algorithm development, and hardware development for a wide variety of radio\-frequency \(RF\) communications, EW/ECM, geolocation, and radar missions\. Our hardware expertise includes the design, low rate manufacture and sustainment of custom highly reliable RF and microwave systems for terrestrial, airborne, and spaceborne applications\. Signal design and analysis expertise includes radar \(fuzing, MTI, and SAR\), digital communications, waveform development, waveform detection in contested environments, signal processing, receiver development, and coherent and traditional TTL\.
