: We are seeking a creative, motivated R&D MOCVD Scientist/Engineer to develop and deliver advanced epitaxy solutions for emerging national security applications to a wide customer base\. You will assume a key role within our high performing optoelectronics team, working closely with compound semiconductor device scientists and engineers on lasers, photonics integrated circuits, photodetectors, photovoltaics, and microelectronics\. Key functions of this role include, but are not limited to: + Performing experimental research involving growth and characterization of novel materials and device technologies and the application and improvement of existing and emerging technologies to meet specific performance needs and targets\.+ Developing new programs and capabilities in areas that support Sandia mission activities to sustain and evolve Sandia's leading\-edge epitaxial capability\.+ Collaborating with team members and local experts to develop new the state\-of\-the\-art materials\.+ Delivering results and reporting findings to co\-workers and customers\.+ Publishing original research in top\-tier journals and conference proceeding\. Required: + PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or closely related STEM field\.+ A Strong background in compound semiconductor MOCVD growth, operation and scientific principles\.+ Record of publication and innovation, as evidenced by peer\-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, technical books, or issued patents\.+ The psychology, dependability, and attention to detail to work with extremely hazardous substances \(EHS\) including phosphine and arsine\. Ability to certify in SCBA for maintenance activities\.
