W1 Professor with W2 Tenure for ‘Biophysics’
at the TUK in the Department of Physics is to be filled as soon as possible.
We are looking for an individual who can pursue research and teaching at TU Kaiserslautern in the fields of Medical Biophysics and/or Biophotonics. The candidate’s research focus should enable close cooperation with existing research activities at TU Kaiserslautern. Readiness to collaborate within our current and future coordinated research programs is expected. The position’s teaching responsibilities will be in the Department of Physics, specifically in the Biophysics BSc and MSc programs as well as in support of the distance education program in Medical Physics. Profound knowledge of the German language is required.
The position includes competitive facilities with financial and human resources. It shall initially be occupied as a W1 position in civil service for a period of three years and extended by a further three years following a positive interim evaluation. A tenure evaluation shall be conducted prior to the completion of the six years. Following the successful completion of this and, insofar as the general staff regulations are met, the appointment shall take place for the civil-service post for life in the salary grade W2. The procedures are set forth in the TUK Charter on Quality Assurance for Appointments.
