The REU site will bring selected undergraduate students from throughout the US to the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). The REU Fellows will be immersed in an exciting ten-week summer research program, carefully mentored by UTD faculty. The key objectives of the program are to instill in the REU Fellows the excitement of research and careers in science, and to build their research skills both independently and in research teams.
Program Dates: May 29 – August 4, 2018
Research Areas: Space science, plasma physics, cosmology, gravitational physics, biophysics, experimental and theoretical condensed matter physics
Support: a $5,000 stipend, travel assistance, on-campus housing, 21 meals per week, gym access, and multiple social events
Eligibility: Citizenship or permanent resident status is generally required for NSF funded projects, but limited funds may exist for non-resident aliens. Students graduating before August 2018 are generally ineligible.
Additional Salary Information: $5,000 stipend for 10 weeks.
