Gannon University's Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences seeks a Visiting Professor in Physics. The appointment for this nine-month, non-tenure track position begins August 2017. The successful candidate will teach introductory physics courses and labs for students in science, engineering, and health sciences; prepare motivated students intellectually and professionally; and will be eligible to apply for an anticipated full-time, tenure-track position starting in August 2018. Typical teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. (completed by fall 2017) in physics or a closely related field; strong ABD candidates may also be considered. The applicant should provide evidence of effective undergraduate teaching experience and a demonstrated ability to engage undergraduates in faculty-mentored student research is desirable. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
