Certification: Candidates must be a certified in either the United States or Canada and be willing to apply for certification to the Canadian Province of British Columbia.
BCISB is a B.C. Offshore School that is accredited by the B.C. Ministry of Education. B.C. Students graduate with a Dogwood Graduation Diploma, allowing them to attend university in Canada and all other western countries.
BCISB is also a candidate school with Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) with a projected full accreditation date in 2018-2019.
Required Abilities, Qualifications, and Experience:
•Extensive academic training, professional preparation and successful experience in teaching
•Has a good understanding of the social, emotional and physical developmental needs of students
•Demonstrated ability to use a variety of formative and summative assessments to plan for instruction and motivate students
•Has knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the BC Ministry of Education’ current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment practices
•Excellent short and long-term planning with respect to the subject matter with the ability to utilize scope and sequence planning
•Demonstrated use of successful instructional strategies in the classroom
•Has proficient technology skills and the ability to apply them as an instructional tool to support learning in the classroom
•Demonstrated excellent classroom management, behavior management, and classroom organization skills
•Demonstrated sensitivity, awareness, and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and developing positive relationships with students
•Demonstrated capabilities in working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team
•Excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
•Shows willingness to contribute to a positive school culture by volunteering in extracurricular activities
•Has a positive attitude towards cultural diversity and is flexible with respect to Thai cultural norms and customs
•Is committed and has a collaborative mindset, focused on being a team player for the long- term growth of BCISB and the betterment of students
