CGG (www.cgg.com) is a fully integrated Geoscience company providing leading geological, geophysical, and reservoir capabilities to its broad base of customers. Through its three complementary business divisions of Equipment, Acquisition and Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir (GGR), CGG brings value across all aspects of natural resource exploration by providing detailed information about the subsurface. CGG employs over 6,000 people around the world, all with a Passion for Geoscience and working together to deliver the best solutions to its customers.
Start your career with a recognized leader in the geophysical industry. At CGG you will learn to create accurate 3D images of the subsurface using seismic data. You will be trained to utilize knowledge of seismic data acquisition, wavelet processing, noise attenuation, and velocity model building. You will learn to use state-of-the-art imaging software and select parameters to ensure a high quality, timely, and cost effective product.
This role requires that you work as part of a team of Seismic Imaging Analysts and Seismic Imagers, dedicated to producing high resolution images of the subsurface for our clients. Emphasis will be on managing day-to-day operations of large projects, providing optimal quality control, identifying problems, and defining ideal solutions. Our Imaging personnel work closely with our research and software development staff to develop new techniques and tools and collaborate with them to publish information about developing technologies. You will work to ensure that our clients receive a timely product that exceeds their expectations for image quality.
Using ultramodern and advanced data visualization tools, Seismic Imaging Analysts create and update seismic velocity models that closely represent subsurface geology. To this end, in addition to learning and applying advanced geophysical concepts, Seismic Imaging Analysts also have the opportunity to learn and develop expertise in geology and horizon interpretation.
Required Education & Experience:
Masters or PhD in Geophysics, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical degree
Must have strong math and excellent problem-solving skills
Team player who is a quick learner, with strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills
Experience with a UNIX environment preferred
Why work at CGG?
The products developed by CGG provide detailed information about the subsurface that minimize drilling risks and improve the efficiency and safety of oil and gas exploration.
You will work with highly intelligent and motivated coworkers who are industry leaders in seismic imaging. We are top-notch in imaging, and our people are the reason for that.
We have an energetic and challenging-yet-fun work environment, full of imaging problems to be solved and technologies to be developed.
Competitive compensation with a monthly, performance-based bonus program.
Full health benefits and 401(k) employer-matching.
Excellent training and mentorship programs.
Our Houston office features an onsite gym, fully stocked break rooms, pool and/or table tennis tables on every floor, catered lunches three days a week, plus breakfast on Fridays. We take care of our biggest asset – our people.
