Trent University invites applications for a 12-month full-time, limited-term appointment in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will start August 15, 2017. This position is subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will teach: PHYS 2610H: Introductory Quantum Physics; PHYS 2620H: Atomic, Molecular and Nuclear Physics; PHYS-MATH 4140H: Advanced Classical Mechanics; PHYS 4220H: Electromagnetic Theory; PHYS-MATH 4700H: Statistical and Thermal Physics; and a summer session of PHYS 1060H: Physics for the Life Sciences.
A Ph.D. degree in physics, and demonstrated teaching and research experience in physics are required. Trent is a primarily undergraduate institution with a tradition of providing an outstanding education to students. The successful candidate will have demonstrated teaching excellence.
