A postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics is available at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa for Fall 2017. The successful candidate will work as part of the research group led by Georg Schwiete.
Areas of interest include, broadly speaking: transport and non-equilibrium effects in many-body systems and novel quantum materials, including aspects of spintronics.
Experience in quantum many-body techniques will be an asset. The appointment is for two years subject to satisfactory performance in the first year. A PhD is required at the beginning of the appointment. Therefore, candidates in the final stages of completing their PhD are also encouraged to apply.
