Engineering and Technology: Bioengineering, Physics: Biophysics, Physics: Soft Matter
A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, “Synthesis, Assembly, and Characterization of Soft Matter,” will be run by the Department of Physics and Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering at Cleveland State University from May 29 – August 4, 2017 (10 weeks). The following projects will be featured in this program: electron imaging of soft matter systems; design and characterization of protein-based materials; volume phase transition in polymer microgels; Janus particles; assembly of anisotropic nanoparticles; microfluidic channels and mixers; optical study of cellular microsensation to fluid flow. Underrepresented minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
