: We are seeking a technical staff member to join the Remote Sensing department to perform R&D activities in quantum information science\. This team member will belong to various project teams within the department that are engaged in quantum sensing hardware development and program development activities\. The work broadly encompasses laboratory experimentation and testing of optomechanical configurations, theoretical modeling and simulation and device design and development in pursuit of exploiting trapped atoms for the purpose of quantum sensing applications and how this can be applied to mission relevant programs\. The successful candidate will be able to contribute their deep technical knowledge in the quantum optics field as it applies to existing programs, as well as have the capability and independence to develop new programs that fall within the scope of Sandia's mission areas\. Required: + Bachelor's and master's degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Optical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, with at least two years' relevant experience; or Ph\.D\. in these disciplines\.+ Extensive laboratory experience in designing and developing optomechanical capabilities for quantum sensing applications and commensurate publication record+ Ability to travel\.+ Ability to obtain and maintain a U\.S\. DOE Q security clearance\.
