: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee in the Radiation\-Hardened CMOS Technology and Advanced Device Development Department to conduct leading\-edge research in the area of advanced semiconductor device design and process development for ultra\-wide band gap devices, electro\-optical devices, and silicon based detectors\. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Support Sandia's advanced semiconductor development programs and specifically Sandia's advanced detector devices, and ultra\-wide band gap power electronics+ Develop process device integration for devices based in silicon and compounds, and associated electrical test, characterization, and verification of manufactured devices+ Partner with physical science researchers to understand and model advanced devices+ Use models to improve and tailor device performance for response, speed requirements, and integration into complex platforms+ Publish results in journal articles and present at conferences Required: + Ph\.D\. conferred within 5 years prior to employment in Electrical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field+ Experience with semiconductor processing and integration knowledge and device research as evidenced by publications, patents, and conference presentations+ Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance Desired: + Knowledge of typical semiconductor electrical characterization equipment+ The desire and ability to write papers for publication in refereed journals+ Organizational skills as well as the ability to interact well in a team environment Department Description: Responsible for developing, integrating, characterizing, and ensuring the reliability of radiation\-hardened microelectronics fabricated in the Microsystems and Engineering Sciences Applications \(MESA\) facilities\.
