: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the W88 ALT 370 Technical Basis and Qualification Department \(Org\. 2134\) to join the systems engineering team in support of the joint test assembly \(JTA\) development and qualification activities\. Specifically, the selected candidate will serve as the JTA mechanical lead, responsible for the mechanical design and development of the W88 ALT 370 JTA system\. This position will include responsibilities for the mechanical definition and integration of the JTA8 components into the reentry body, management and documentation of mass properties, oversight of JTA builds and working with the assembly team, design and procurement of test specific hardware, and provides the opportunity of being part of a tightly integrated team working to qualify the JTA system\. This position will involve technical engagement with experts in the areas of computer aided drafting \(CAD\), component design, quality engineering, and independent assessment organizations within Sandia and with our partner agencies in support of the JTA development program\. This position has exciting growth opportunities and are an integral part of our overall development and qualification effort for the W88 ATL 370\. This position will also include a variety of interactions across the program including coordination with partner organizations across the laboratory and external interaction with the Navy, NNSA, LANL, and other agencies\. Bachelor's degree in an engineering or physics discipline AND an advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in mechanical engineering or related engineering or physics discipline\.99.
